WHAT IS THE AIM OF THE COURSE?

Until very recently, customers who wanted to customize a software application were required to learn a set of application-specific skills or hire an expert, often at prohibitive cost.

Upon successful completion of this course you will be able to:

  • Macros : recording macros; assigning macros to toolbar buttons, menus and objects; understanding the limitations of recorded macros; editing recorded macros.
  • Visual Basic for Applications : introducing the VBA Editor window; creating procedures; basic principles - syntax, commenting, naming conventions; getting help
  • VBA Fundamentals : using Objects, Properties and Methods; manipulating ranges and cells; using variables; calling procedures; using the With Statement; creating Looping Statement; assigning procedures to workbook events
  • Debug code and error trap : step through code; interrupt/break code; including simple error trapping code
  • Dialog Boxes/User Forms : creating message boxes; creating user forms; using the control toolbox

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

This course is aimed at delegates who have an extensive knowledge of Excel and Access and who need to automate repetitive or complex tasks within a spreadsheet or wanting to create database application.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSESSMENTS

In support of your learning, New Horizons provides reinforcement tools to increase retention of the course material and move you further along your learning lifecycle. From hands-on practice to study aides and resources, we supply you with the tools necessary to enhance your New Horizons Integrated Learning experience.

Learners may elect to write the International Microsoft and CompTIA examinations at New Horizons' Authorised Prometric Testing Centre. The costs for International exams are not included in the course fees.
